Deborah Smith and her husband Ricky attend the HCF Plainview campus. They have been coming to Harvest for 10 years. Deborah and Ricky eloped in 1993: “We didn’t realize it was ‘arraignment day’ at the courthouse, so we waited for the judge in the midst of inmates in shackles and jumpsuits!” They have one son, Logan. Deborah enjoys reading, catching bigger fish than Ricky, and hosting family get-togethers.
What books have changed your life?
Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver and Francis Chan’s Crazy Love are two books I go back to for insight and encouragement. I like reading No David! (by David Shannon) to my great-nieces, too!
What area of ministry are you most passionate about and why?
I’m passionate about encouraging other women! We need to be elevate each other!
What is one quirky fact about you?
If I had to choose one quirky thing about me, it would be that I don’t mind being quirky! Oh, and I’m hung up on the number three!
