Kitty Shipman attends the HCF Plainview campus, and is married to her husband, Bobby. “We married in 1996 and have spent our whole married life taking care of our elderly family. We have four adult children between us; two daughters, a son, and a son in heaven and nine grandchildren. We started going to Harvest in 1999 and are so very, very grateful for our church family and couldn’t do life without them.”
What do you enjoy doing?
I love being retired and getting to stay home and take care of my nest, my husband and my little mama. I love to study the Word of God and journal, read, rock and fossil hunt, and play Mexican train dominoes with friends and family.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
From Little Mama: “Everything is temporary. Temporary may be ten years, but it is still temporary.” These words have helped me through a lot of tough times.
What books that have changed your life?
Secrets of the Secret Place by Bob Sorge; Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver; Experiencing the Spirit by Robert Heidler; The Three Battlegrounds by Francis Frangipane.
What is your favorite area of ministry and why?
My favorite area of ministry is intercessory prayer and Freedom in Christ. I love praying for God’s will to be done here on earth just as it is in heaven and seeing what He does in situations. I also love Freedom in Christ Ministry because so many lies get exposed when Truth is spoken and strongholds get broken, so people can enjoy Jesus and the freedom He died to give us all.
