Mary Coleman

Mary joined Harvest around 2006. She quickly found her niche and served in the youth and college ministries at Harvest. Her love for her church and her church family kept her in Plainview after graduation. In 2011 Jay Coleman, who was also serving in the youth and college ministries, wooed her heart. They were married and quickly figured out they had hearts for serving and praying for others. They have three wonderful boys, Jaibren, Mark and Eljah who are growing up in Kingdom life.

Who is your hero? And why? My older brother has been one of my heroes since we were little. He loves God and loves people.

What event in your childhood had the greatest effect on your life? My parents’ divorce had the greatest impact on my young life. In spite of the difficulties, my parents made sure to speak about each other respectful and not manipulate the children to choose sides.

If you were doing what you do today, what other job would you want to have? If I weren’t teaching, I would stay home to keep a peaceful place ready for hospitality.

What “lesson from mom” do you still live by today? Serve wholeheartedly. All people were made in God’s image. Love them all.
