Sue Johnson

Sue has spent all of her 73 years on Texas soil & wouldn’t change a thing. She has been a country girl most of her life. Along with the most wonderful parents ever, she had an older brother & a younger sister whom she loved dearly. She got married at a very young age & had 3 children. Unfortunately, the marriage ended after 11 years. Her 2nd marriage to Tim & his 2 children has been ongoing for 46 years. Her life has been wonderfully busy with 16 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren. For the past 6 years, they have been living their dream life as camp hosts of Pendaries RV Resort throughout the summer months in the beautiful mountains of New Mexico.

Tim & Sue started attending Harvest in 2011. Both enjoy serving in any capacity alongside their church family.

Who is your hero and why?

My hero is my jack of all trades, God-loving, overcomer of life’s trials husband, Tim. True story, I have never, in 46 years, had to call a repairman!

What one event in your childhood had the greatest effect on your life?

When I was a young girl my best friend & I had the privilege of traveling to small churches with a husband & wife & their bedridden son who could barely speak. Gorden Daryl would give his testimony & Kathy & I would sing. The love of Jesus shined through him.

What “lesson” from mom do you still live today?

Never ever go to bed with bad words between you & your husband. One night I failed to remember her words. I fell asleep in the recliner after a “few words”. I woke up hearing her audible voice telling me to straighten up & go settle the matter. Momma always knew best.
